Email Marketing Campaigns – Explained

What is an email marketing campaign?

An email marketing campaign is a set of emails that a business uses for marketing purposes.

These emails don’t necessarily have to be sales emails, per se. They can be educational emails, “Happy Holidays” e-cards, newsletters, and just about anything you can think of that might entice your leads into becoming customers.

How do you use an email marketing campaign?

Typically, when you’re talking about an email marketing campaign, you’re talking about it in the context of an automated marketing system like Infusionsoft. Infusionsoft has a number of automated marketing capabilities, including sending out emails from marketing campaigns.

Here’s how email marketing works in Infusionsoft

  1. When you set up your Infusionsoft account, the first thing you’ll do is import all your contacts into its database.
  2. After your contacts are imported, you’ll go through and “tag” each one with information you find relevant to that contact, such as their birthday, products they’ve purchased in the past, and anything else you think is important.
  3. Now, with your contacts all uploaded and tagged, you’ll connect each contact to the email marketing campaign or campaigns that are most relevant to them.
  4. Your contacts will start to receive emails at pre-determined intervals of time. From here on out, you don’t have to lift a finger (unless you want to)!

Content is king

Email marketing campaigns, when done right, build brand recognition and trust in your customer base. If you only send out ads for your product, your emails are likely to end up in the trash folder. We all get tired of being bombarded by advertising, and your customers are no exception.

But if you send your customers information they can use, such as educational articles, coupons, and such, your emails are a lot more likely to be read. Over time, your customers will start to associate your name with the positive information contained in your emails. This is very good for business. Very, very good.

Why businesses love email marketing campaigns

Follow-up failure is the No. 1 mistake business owners make. Automated marketing and email marketing campaigns eliminate follow-up failure by taking the “lead follow-up” process down to one easy step. With an automated marketing system, if you can find time to import a new contact (it’s easy and only takes a few minutes), the system takes care of everything else.

Email marketing is also one of the cheapest marketing options in the industry. For $199, you can send out 12,500 emails a month with Infusionsoft. The same amount of physical mailers would cost $6,125 in stamps alone.

And most importantly, Infusionsoft provides trackable results, for tangible ROI on your marketing investment. Traditional marketing outlets like billboards, newspaper ads and television spots cannot prove they are worth the money you sink into them.

It’s easy to get started with email marketing

Infusionsoft’s marketing automation software is very user friendly, and training is provided with the purchase of an Infusionsoft account. Infusionsoft DFY (Done For You) campaigns are also available from outside companies, with ready-made, pre-written emails that you can put to work right away. Search Google for “Infusionsoft packages” or “Infusionsoft marketing automation,” and you’ll easily find companies that can get you started with your email marketing today.
